Some common questions:

Are there try-outs?

Not at this time. We accept anyone who has an interest in learning and playing. You should - ideally - have a few years of playing in your Middle School or High School orchestra.

Seating will be assigned by the director and will rotate amongst the players based on the capabilities of individual members.

Do I have to have my own instrument?

You need to bring an instrument, whether it is your own instrument or the one you use at school. Check with your school orchestra director first before bringing that instrument!

Do I have to be in my school Honors Orchestra?

No! You should be someone who enjoys playing your instrument, and is willing to learn and practice. (Most of our players will get better simply because of the extra time spent playing in the Youth Orchestra, so maybe you will be in the Honors Orchestra at your school next time there are try-outs!)
